Event Details

Summer Retreat 2011 in Brighton, is the gathering of the year for the Young Adults - This changes everything!! Rich Wilkerson Jr will be with us from Trinity Church in Miami, Florida. Rich is a dynamic and passionate communicator for our generation.

We will kick off on Thursday night at City Coast Centre at 7.30pm, the closest station is Portslade.  Make sure you book your train ticket from wherever you are coming from Southern Railway  and National Rail are frequently used.

 

There will be a shuttle bus service on Thursday night from Brighton Station to City Coast Centre between 6pm and 7pm, (look out for our team by the Big Lemon Buses).  Otherwise you could take a number of public transport buses including 25, 49, 6 and 1 to City Coast Centre or a train from Brighton Station to Portslade Station which is a 5 minute walk to City Coast Centre.

OPTION 1 - CAMPING

Blacklands Campsite is a 20 minute drive from City Coast Centre, only 20 minutes between Hassocks Station and Portslade and only 20 minutes between Burgess Hill and Portslade. There will be a shuttle service each morning and evening to take you to City Coast Centre.  Starting from Thursday evening after the first session of summer retreat. 
The Campsite will be split into two distinctive areas, one for girls and one boys.  Please note that if you're sharing a tent, only same sex tent sharing is allowed at the campsite.

If you are arriving in the afternoon on Thursday 18th August to set up your tent please contact Dan Blythe to let him know your time of arrival.  There will be a shuttle service from Hassocks Station to take you to Blacklands Campsite at 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm.  From Blacklands Campsite there will be a shuttle that will pick you up at 6pm to take you to City Coast Centre in time for the first session for Summer Retreat.

OPTION 2 - LANCASTER HOUSE AT SUSSEX UNI (GIRLS ONLY)

Lancaster House is a 15 minute drive from City Coast Centre, only 30 minutes on the train between Falmer Station and Portslade Station and only 10 minutes between Brighton Station and Falmer Station on the train. There will be a shuttle service each morning and evening to take you to City Coast Centre starting from Thursday evening after the first session.

You can collect your keys at Lancaster House between 2pm - 4pm on Thursday 18th August and drop off your luggage. After that you can pick up your room keys at City Coast Centre, at the information stand.

OPTION 3 - TRAVELODGE HOTEL

Travelodge is a 10 minute walk from Brighton Rail Station and only 20 minutes on a public transport bus to City Coast Centre.  Take buses, 1, 700 and 6.

We will not operate a shuttle service from Brighton Seafront Travelodge.
Check in time is from 3.00pm onwards and check out time is 12.00 midday. Departures later than the check out time will result in additional charges.  Please inform the hotel if you are intending to check in after 9pm. 

The latest check in time is 4am, of the day after the arrival date of your booking. Bookings not checked in after this are automatically cancelled by the hotel.
